Bentein - Pollet Funeral Centre

Annick Bentein and Gregory Pollet of Bentein-Pollet funeral centre regularly encountered death in their former jobs as nurses. These experiences left them wanting to do more for the next of kin. After training as funeral directors, they decided to focus on funeral care and to start their own funeral home.

Annick and Gregory first met APEX at the annual funeral exhibition in Haasrode. After a thorough comparison with other providers in the market, they discovered that APEX offers the only audio-visual solution specifically developed for the funeral industry. Liviau integrates audio, video and lighting control in a simple touchscreen, so there’s no need for an external laptop, iPad or media player to run music or images during the ceremony. Everything is prepared and programmed in advance.

“The pre-programmed service really takes a lot of the stress out of a ceremony. The only thing I still have to do during the ceremony is push the right button, the rest is done completely automatically. For example, the system knows that it needs to automatically return to the set pause image after a photo gallery”, says Gregory Pollet.

Warm, stylish and fully automated

To create a serene, warm atmosphere in Bentein-Pollet’s brand-new funeral home, APEX undertook a complete lighting study for them. APEX work with many different lighting manufacturers, allowing us to negotiate the best prices and source the most appropriate system for our clients. We selected a solution from LEDnLUX, based in Limburg, which allowed us to programme a number of different atmospheres for funeral ceremonies. For example, the lights go out automatically when a photo tribute is played, then when someone gives a reading a spotlight above the lectern illuminates.
